You could probably get through life without knowing how to roast a chicken, but the question is, would you want to?– Nigella Lawson
Welcome to DELICIOUS. This blog was initially started to give my prospective clients a glimpse into my cooking abilities. It has grown into something much more. I love taking the 25 some odd years of experience that I have in the Hotel & Restaurant business and presenting to you, my readers, a neat organized, easy to follow recipe, along with a hopefully interesting story to go along with it. I hope to grow this blog into a bookmarked source of inspiration into my readers everyday cooking lives. Thank you for reading and I hope you will peak in from time to time. I have learned so much from the community of people that I now share in this wonderful world of bloggers.
ABOUT ME As the Sous Chef of a very busy historic hotel in Salem Massachusetts, I learned just about everything I needed to know to round out my culinary carer. Trained at Newbury College in Brookline Ma, after already cooking for 5 years, I was propelled quickly into this wonderful savory life. I spent some time cooking at the Scottsdale Princess in Arizona. After spending 10 years at the Hawthorne Hotel I was a floor manager at Stephanie’s On Newbury street in Boston Ma and the assistant General manager of the British Beer Company.
In the last 4 years my life has needed to slow down just a touch as I got married in 2009 and shortly after my wonderful twins were born. In an effort to spend time with my family I found a great and exciting job as a savory chef at Twist Bakery due to its awesome 6-2 hours. This is a gluten-soy-nut-dairy free Bakery so I have been learning many new skills and techniques to add to my already deep arsenal of tools and knowledge.
Now still working at twist I have started my own business, The Purple Fig, on the side as a personal chef. I offer home cooked meals for those in need as well as cooking lessons, and small event catering. Now adding a blog to my crazy, wonderful, hectic, beautiful life I feel blessed. I cook everyday, either at work or at home for my family and I love every moment of it. This blog is my way of expressing myself and sharing my artistic, and creative views on everything dealing with food. I hope you will become part of my family as we all venture into this delicious world of food.
